Introduction to Mixed Method Research (face-to-face) In-Person

Dr Olga Cara | Spring: 11:00 AM - 13:00 PM (UK time) Tuesday 21, 28 February + 7 March (Room 205 in 40 Bernard Street - directly opposite the entrance to Russell Square tube station)

NB: This course accrues 2 training points.

Mixed method approach is increasingly popular in the field of social sciences and a growing number of studies make use of these methods, that is, both quantitative and qualitative methods within a single study.

At the same time, surprisingly little is known about how exactly to combine and/or integrate methods in practice. The overall aim in this module is to provide students with information, tools and guidance on combining research methods in the mixed methods framework in an informed way.

The course is designed for researchers at the beginning stages of their research design who would like to find out what mixed method approach is and how it can be used in educational research. Researchers who are already using mixed methods and would like some further training and guidance are also invited to contribute with ideas and participate in discussions.

Every workshop will consist of a lecture and some practical exercises in groups or pairs.

For much more information, including aims and objectives and key and further reading, please see the course description page.
