Doing Regression Analysis? (face-to-face) In-Person

Dr Golo Henseke | Two three-hour sessions | Summer: 10:00 to 13:00 Tuesday 20 June + Wednesday 21 June (Room A5.03 on the fifth floor of the IOE)

NB: This course accrues 2 training points.

Most phenomena that we investigate are messy and multi-layered beyond the researcher's control. This session introduces you to multiple linear regression. Regression allows quantitative researchers to statistically 'control' for confounding influences. This workshop will provide a brief introduction to issues of causality in quantitative research, simple linear regression and how we use it to estimate the line-of-best-fit before moving to multiple regression. The workshop will combine brief lecture segments with hands-on exercises that illustrate the different techniques in widely used survey data. This workshop is open to all interested in reviewing their training in multiple regression analysis. It assumes some basic knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics.
