Ethical Issues and Intellectual Property Rights (face-to-face) In-Person
Prof Michael Reiss, Dr Christina Daouti and Dr Nazlin Bhimani | One three-and-a-half hour session | Spring: 14:00 - 17:30 (UK time) Friday 16 January (Room 537 in the IOE)
NB: This course accrues 1 training point.
This session will be in two halves. In the first half Michael Reiss will look at how ethical guidelines can be used in practice and at what to do when they do not seem to provide clear answers. The aim is to ensure that you feel comfortable about dealing with ethical issues in your research.
In the second half, Nazlin Bhimani and Christina Daouti will focus on intellectual property rights, including copyright. The aim of the session is to ensure you know how to avoid infringing the rights of others and also what you can do to protect your own.
The session will be helpful to students are various stages of their doctoral journey. It is likely to be of most use to those who are yet to undertake data collection. In both session halves, there will be input from the respective course leader accompanied by class discussion. There will be a 15-minute break between the two halves of the session.
