Professor Tom Woodin | Three two-hour sessions | Spring: 11:00 - 13:00 (UK time) Thursday 22, 29 January (Room 780 in the IOE) + 5 February (Room G08 Sir David Davies LT - Roberts Building)
NB: This course accrues 2 training points.
This course is intended to support PhD students whose thesis consist wholly or largely of conceptual/theoretical research as opposed to the collection and analysis of empirical data.
The sessions will offer students an opportunity to engage with conceptual, historical and theoretical work on education in the arts and humanities. Our central approach is to look at the ways in which some key concepts have been analysed, interpreted and theorised from a range of disciplinary perspectives. You will also be encouraged to explore the historical, conceptual and theoretical dimensions of your own research.
For more information, including learning outcomes and suggested reading, see the course description page.
