Feeling Like a Fraud? You're Not Alone.
Research suggests that 70% of people experience Impostor Syndrome at some point in their careers—and doctoral researchers are particularly vulnerable. If you've ever felt that your achievements are undeserved, worried about being "found out," or questioned whether you truly belong in academia, this workshop is for you.
In this interactive session, Prof Richard Freeman will explore:
• Why Impostor Syndrome is so prevalent during PhD and EdD study
• The research behind the Impostor Phenomenon and its links to anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt
• Practical strategies to recognise, challenge, and minimize impostor feelings
• How to reframe your inner critic and build confidence in your doctoral journey
Whether you're experiencing intense impostor feelings or occasional self-doubt, you'll leave with evidence-based tools to navigate these challenges and thrive in your research.
