The Engaging with Policy and Practice: Principles & Processes Workshop is a dynamic researcher development module tailored for IOE doctoral candidates. It aims to embed crucial aspects of research engagement and impact into their studies, exceeding the standard requirement of an impact statement for their thesis. Through a blend of pre-sessional online materials and a focused workshop, candidates will gain a critical understanding of key impact criteria, such as reach, significance, and rigour, and learn best practices from UCL experts. They will also have the opportunity to engage with UKRI and Parliament Policy fellows currently working at Ofsted and the Home Office, enhancing their understanding of how research influences policy and practice.

The Module: Engaging with Policy and Practice: Principles & Processes Workshop is conceived as a researcher development module that provides key tailored information and guidance for doctoral candidates to begin their exploration of research engagement and impact and embed it in their research in a confident manner as they progress through their studies.
