Approaches to Educational Research (ONLINE) In-Person
Dr Rupert Higham | Autumn: Tuesday 20 October to Friday 7 December
Important note: our registration system will detail this as an ‘all day course’. However, the course will include asynchronous work across the dates advertised. The course includes an online Induction session from 12:30 to 1:30 pm on Tuesday 20 October which all students must attend.
NB: This course accrues 6 training points.
Approaches to Educational Research looks at a range of designs that are often used in social research, including surveys, ethnography, case studies, and experiments. It also explores and contrasts ways in which researchers conceptualise the outcomes of research. This course will engage you in six online learning activities: five asynchronous discussion forums will involve you in critically reflecting on foundational research approaches in the social sciences and one synchronous 'live' activity will engage you in presenting the research approach you are taking in your doctoral study. This course is suitable for students who are transitioning to their Upgrade.
